Why are my Fittonia leaves shrivelled at the edges?

Fittonia leaves shrivelled at edges sounds like a lack of humidity. The Fittonias come from Peru and like a warm humid atmosphere. They like shady damp areas. Obviously in a centrally heated home this can be difficult to achieve. Try to pick a spot away from draughts and out of direct sunlight. They require a temperature of no lower than 18 degrees centigrade but prefer an all year temperature of 21 degrees centigrade. Spray the leaves every day with a water mist and do not let the soil dry out. Use a loam based no2 or peat based compost. The roots are not deep so you can use a shallow pot. They grow best in a warm humid green house or terrarium
